Lake Chelan welcomes classic cars and hot rods at CruiZin Chelan on June 6th and 7th

Chelan,WA (LCCC) - Visitors can step back in time when classic cars and hot rods line the streets of downtown Chelan during the 2008 CruiZin Chelan Classic Car Show on June 6th and 7th. The Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce presents this annual two-day event in partnership with sponsors SunnyFM and GoLakeChelan.com.

“It’s a fun weekend for everyone. Given the beautiful backdrop of the lake, Chelan seems a natural place to host a classic car show,” said Executive Director Mike Steele.

Chelan,WA (LCCC) - Two Seattle Seahawk players will be golfing in the Lake Chelan Lion’s Golf Tournament on Friday, May 16th at Bear Mountain Ranch.  The two Seattle Seahawks players are offensive tackle Kyle Williams and offensive guard Steve Vallos.  We are looking for two fortunate players to golf with the two Seattle Seahawks.

Chelan County Sheriff Hosts 2008 Washington State Search and Rescue Conference PDF Print E-mail

Chelan County Sheriff(CCCD) - Sheriff Mike Harum announces on May 16, 17, and 18, 2008, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the 2008 Washington State Search and Rescue (SAR) Conference.  The SAR Conference is a unique opportunity to showcase our community to Search and Rescue volunteers converging from all areas of Washington, Oregon and Canada.  It is also an opportunity for citizens in our community with interest in Search and Rescue to attend courses and learn more about how to get involved in the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer program.

Courses such as Basic Search and Rescue, Helicopter Management and Safety, K-9 Tracking, Horse and Mule Packing, Whitewater Search and Rescue, Search Theory, 24-Hour SAR Pack, Team Survival, Map and Compass, Shelter Building, Survival Training, Interview and Investigation Techniques, Meth Lab and Marijuana Outdoor Awareness, Body Discovery, Recovery and Scene Preservation, and many more will be offered.

The State SAR Conference benefits Search and Rescue volunteers by providing a variety of training, at minimal expense.

Chelan Hosts 12th Annual Memorial Parade PDF Print E-mail

Parade honors public servants who have lost their lives in the line of duty

Chelan,WA(LCCC) - Woodin Avenue in downtown Chelan will become parade headquarters during the 12th annual Chelan Valley Memorial Parade on May 22 at 7pm. “The purpose of the parade is to remember and honor police officers and soldiers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. One of the ways the event does this is by inviting family members of fallen officers and soldiers,” said Event Manager Jaye Payne. The parade now has over 40 entries including local and regional bands, royalty, and service clubs.

Parade participants will begin on the corner of Bradley Street and Woodin Avenue. KOZI radio will broadcast the event live. Please contact the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce at (509) 682-3503 for entry and sponsorship information.

Manson,WA(MVT) - It's been a long-standing tradition to celebrate the night away with a Queens Ball following a full day of events connected to the Manson Apple Blossom Festival.

In 2008's "Golden Glamour" event, "The Shades" a highly popular dance band from the Tri-Cities will perform in the Manson Grange Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Families and friends are urged to attend this family-style celebration of another Festival for Manson on Saturday, May 10.

Manson,WA(MVT) - Several details of putting on the 88TH  Manson Apple Blossom Festival were taken care of at a meeting chaired by Jama England on Monday, April 28th.

One of the most important “details” is getting folks into downtown Manson to enjoy the Festival Day!  With just one main road leading into town, that sometimes presents a problem.  The committee has been working with the Chelan County Sheriffs staff to ensure people an easy in and out of the Village by the Bay.
