Pride Auction – August 26th
Valley Pride Auction was a great success at Wapato Point
Cellars. I want to thank the Chamber
Staff Jaye Payne, Cindy Davis, Cara Whitney, Marilyn Strickwerda, Elsa Orozco,
and Teresa Weldy for all their work on the the
VPA. A special thanks to the
staff of Wapato Point Cellars and for the use of their beautiful
facility. Also special thanks to the
companies that have provided exchange packages, raffle and other donations
throughout the year.

First Friday – September
1st
Enjoy the transition into the best time
of year at the “Fall out or Summer” at FIRST FRIDAY on Friday, September 1st
from 6 PM to 9 PM in downtown Chelan.
This First Friday will feature entertainment, fun, specials and art
downtown. The Chelan Teen Center is
hosting a Putting Tournament downtown at Riverwalk
Park on a championship Putt-Putt course. The Lake Chelan Museum will have its doors
open and will feature the Three Amigos.
The Culinary Apple will present Wenatchee singer/guitarist, Jim
Webb. Mud and clay pottery by the
Kimbaran caste of people from South India will be available for sale in front of
the Culinary Apple. A new part of First
Friday this year is the student Artwalk.
Student art will be shown throughout the month at Aston’s Gifts, Cards,
etc; Carol’s; the Culinary Apple; Main Street Gallery; Shirt Shop; Woven Threads
and Memories by the Lake. Main Street
Gallery’s Artists in Action welcomes, Diane Paton-Peel poster artist for
Chelan’s Riverwalk Fine Arts festival.
Diane will be painting in oils.
Also meet Tori Wright, student artist from Chelan High School working in
charcoal. Sunburst Gallery will feature
Olympia sculptor and painter Simon Kogan.
Stop by to see these artists in action.
Campbell's House Cafe will feature a free appetizer with the purchase of
two dinner entrees.
The 100-year-old Episcopal Church will
be open, food donations and cash will be accepted for the Chelan Food Bank. Guild B will have a raffle for a round trip
for two to Stehekin and a night at the Courtney Ranch. Soroptomist of Chelan will be providing
information on the 8th Annual Chelan Chase, a 5k walk/run on October
21st with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society for Research
and to LCCH for free Mammograms. P.E.O.,
a philanthropic organization focused on providing women with increased
opportunities for higher education, brings back their popular bake
sale.
River Daze – September 2nd
& 3rd
Labor Day Weekend, September
2nd and 3rd, is the 8th annual RiverDaze festival at Riverwalk
Park. This event will be featuring arts
& craft vendors, food booths, trains rides, kid’s activities, and live
entertainment at the Riverwalk Pavilion from 1 to 3 Saturday and Sunday
afternoon. On Saturday from 3 to 6 we have a special Country Concert with
Jonathon Barr and his daughter Hannah. A
separate beverage garden will be available Saturday.
Tsillan Cellars Concerts – September
1st and 2nd
Friday and Saturday Tsillan Cellars has
some special concerts. Friday is at 7pm
is The Kingston Trio and Saturday at 7pm is Merilee
Rush.
