Chelan, Washington – The first Friday in February is fast approaching, love is in the air and it is time for another First Friday event in Historic Downtown Chelan. The theme this month is”Á Kiss from your Local Merchant"-(Hershey that is) — stop in and visit your merchants for a special chocolate treat.

We all remember building those cute little Valentines for that special someone.  This First Friday event will feature a Valentine Creation Contest. Local Elementary students have been asked to create Valentines that describe a special person that has made a difference in their lives in 30 words or less.  5 winners will be chosen and receive a $20 gift certificate.

What would Valentine’s Day be without a special serenade? The Museum will be open and will feature the trio, The Three Amigos.

Continuing the special partnership with art students and local businesses, student art will be shown beginning First Friday and throughout the month at each of the following businesses;  Aston's, Carol's, Culinary Apple, Main St Gallery, Shirt Shop, Company 107 and Woven Threads.  This month Main St Gallery's Artist in Action series welcomes Manson artist, Sandy Strain who will be painting on silk with French paint.  Chelan High School Student Artist, Jacob Strain will be working on his pottery and Sam Strain from Chelan Middle School will be painting.  They have been working on art with their Grandma for years, so this will be a true family art project.

FIRST FRIDAY is a special event held in Chelan’s historic shopping district the first Friday of each month from 6 – 9 pm.  Participating merchants offer FIRST FRIDAY specials.  Come see your friends and neighbors and experience the fun of downtown Chelan as we celebrate the holiday season in Lake Chelan Valley.  If you have questions regarding this special event please stop by the Chamber office at 102 East Johnson, Chelan; visit our website lakechelan.com or call 509-682-3503.
