Leavenworth Home Invasion PDF Print E-mail

ImageChelan County Sheriff - Sheriff Mike Harum reports on July 24, 2007 at approximately 11:45 p.m.,  a Chumstick residence was forcibly entered by two armed intruders.  The resident, a male age 57, confronted the intruders, and was forced to the floor at gunpoint.  While on the floor, the resident managed to disarm his assailant, gain control of the weapon, and fire three shots at his attacker.  The victim subsequently lost control of his assailants, and both intruders escaped from the home.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Washington State Patrol and EMS searched the area.  The suspects flagged down EMS on the Chumstick Hiway and requested medical aid.  ChelanCounty Deputies and State Troopers contacted the suspects, and both were taken into custody.

Sheriff Harum further advises the wounded suspect was transported to Central Washington Hospital, where he will remain under guard by law enforcement pending his medical release.  The 2ndLake Stevens, WA, was booked into the Chelan CountyRegional Justice Center on charges of Assault 1st degree, and Burglary 1st degree.  Charges are pending on the wounded suspect, a male age 25 from Everett, WA.
