Chelan, Washington - The annual Chelan Chase, a 5K Run/Walk, will be held Saturday, October 20, starting at 10 a.m., at the old bridge on Woodin Avenue, Chelan. Applications are available at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce or by calling (509) 682-3503 or 1-800-4CHELAN, or by going to the Chelan Chase website at www.chelanchase.com.

The race is sponsored by Soroptimist Club of Chelan, a women's service organization.  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and for free mammograms at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Proceeds from last year’s race exceeded $16,000.  Three hundred runners and walkers of all ages are expected for the 2007 race.  Entry fee is $15 if made prior to October 12. Entries received after that date will be $20.  If pledges total more than $25, registration is free.     A tee shirt is given to each participant.  Sweatshirts will be given to those with pledges exceeding $200. Winners will be given awards and drawings for special prizes will be held following the race.
