Chelan County Sheriff(CCCD) - Sheriff
Mike Harum announces on May 16, 17,
and 18, 2008, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting
the 2008 Washington State Search and Rescue (SAR) Conference. The SAR
Conference is a unique opportunity to showcase our community to Search and
Rescue volunteers converging from all areas of Washington, Oregon and
Canada. It is also an opportunity
for citizens in our community with interest in Search and Rescue to attend
courses and learn more about how to get involved in the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer
program.
Courses such as Basic
Search and Rescue, Helicopter Management and Safety, K-9 Tracking, Horse and
Mule Packing, Whitewater Search and Rescue, Search Theory, 24-Hour SAR Pack,
Team Survival, Map and Compass, Shelter Building, Survival Training, Interview
and Investigation Techniques, Meth Lab and Marijuana Outdoor Awareness, Body
Discovery, Recovery and Scene Preservation, and many more will be offered.
The State SAR
Conference benefits Search and Rescue volunteers by providing a variety of
training, at minimal expense.
