Enjoy a free lunch and fun for the entire family
Chelan, WA. March 24, 2017 - On April 15, 2017, Chelan Fire & Rescue, in conjunction with Chelan’s celebration of Earth Day, will host a Safety Day at the Station 71/Headquarters, located at 232 E. Wapato Avenue in downtown Chelan. This family fun event will run from 10 AM – 4 PM. Community members are invited to come and enjoy touring the fire station, learn ways to stay safe, enjoy a free lunch that will begin at 12-noon.
With the community celebrating Earth Day firefighters want to do their part by hosting this event that is designed to help members of the community learn more about what they can do to keep their homes and family safe. Visitors will be able to see fire engines and equipment up close and visit directly with firefighters about the important and life saving work they do.
Information on Firewise (wildfire prevention), car seats, smoke alarms and more will be available. Special guests from Chelan Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Life Flight and Rivercom 9-1-1 will also be available to provide information about the invaluable work they do and the role they play in an emergency situation. The community will also have the opportunity to learn what they can do to help in an emergency and how to quickly access these services.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring the entire family.
