The Lake Chelan community will produce one of the largest fireworks shows in Washington state on July 4, 2017. The annual event is coordinated by community members, some of whom have already begun the planning process for the show which will feature some new details for locals and visitors who flock to Lake Chelan for the show each year.
The Lake Chelan Valley 4th of July Fireworks take place in the Manson Bay in downtown Manson each year. The fireworks are staged from a barge on Lake Chelan so viewers can enjoy the views while waiting for the show at nightfall.
A GoFundMe page (https://www.gofundme.com/MansonBayFireworks) has been set up to accept ongoing donations for the show. The goal for the campaign is $2,500 which is just a portion of the funds that volunteers need to produce the show.
Overall, $30,000 is raised each year through sponsorships and donations bins which are placed throughout town. Any funds not utilized for the event are rolled over to the next year’s fireworks show so the team does not have to start from scratch financially. All funds raised from the event are designated solely to produce the annual fireworks spectacular.
The fireworks show got its start when guests at Wapato Point Resort produced their own small show. Since then, the community has taken the reigns to build the show into the crowd-pleaser that it is today.
Event sponsors such as Wapato Point Resort and Washington’s Playground have been vital in ensuring the high quality that the show has become known for. Additionally, Town Toyota Center of Wenatchee has graciously committed as the event’s Presenting Sponsor. The group would also like to recognize media partners GoLakeChelan.com and KOZI Radio for their generous support of the event.
