sheriffsmSheriff Burnett reports on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at about 5:00 P.M., Rivercom received a call of a male creating a disturbance with a female in the 1000 Block of Ivan Morse Road in Manson. Deputies arrived in the area and observed a male and female standing outside a residence. The male, having seen Deputies arrive, turned and quickly walked back inside the residence against the commands from the Deputy to stop.

Information gathered at the scene identified the male subject as 27 year old Benny G. Sedano of Everett and that he was known to carry a firearm. Rivercom received an earlier report at about 2:00 P.M. in the same area, of a male subject reported to have a large quantity of drugs and firearms.

Sedano was found to have two Department of Corrections Warrants for his arrest. Additional Officers responded to assist in containment, but at some point, Sedano exited the rear of the house and was last seen in between several outbuildings at the back of the property.

Sedano ignored verbal commands from Officers and went out of sight from the officers. The Chelan County Regional SWAT Team was activated due to the potential of the subject having a firearm and his refusal to cooperate.

A Chelan County K9 Unit also responded and at about 8:30 P.M., Sedano was located by the K9 Unit in a garage and gave himself up a short time later without the dog having to be released. Nobody was injured during the incident.

A search of the location produced two loaded firearms but investigators were unable to locate any drugs. Sedano was booked on two No Contact Order Violations and is being held by DOC. Additional charges are possible pending further investigation.
