ChelanFireRescueLogo200Chelan Fire and Rescue held their 2015 annual awards banquet February 23, 2016.

The banquet honors and awards those members and agencies who are dedicated and committed to their community and the people we serve.

Achievement certificates where given out to members who attended training opportunities throughout the year. There was over 12,000 training hours in 2015.

Recognition was given to members who responded to emergency incidents, those hours totaled 6,508.

The Firefighters Association recognized past association officers for their dedication and commitment: President Dan Wright, Vice Present Marcia Holmdahl and Secretary Sherry Fisk.

Each year the fire district recognizes members for their years of service. 5 years: Greg Girvin, Marcia Holmdahl, Eric Sanderson, Justin Thorpe, Jason Watson and Nolan Worley. 10 years: Nathan Smeltzer.

Life Saving Award is an award that is given with honor.  

On July 5, 2015 at 1600 hours RiverCom 911 received a medical aid call for a person having a possible stroke on the south shore of Lake Chelan. Units and personnel arrived on scene within 15 minutes to find the patient in cardiac arrest. CPR was started and the patient was treated and transported to Fields Landing where the patient was air lifted to Central Washington Hospital.

The efforts of all involved parties played a measurable role in saving this life. The patient has returned home to a normal and productive life. MSC Karl Jonasson, Capt. Pat Moore, Lt. Hal Jones, Lt. Are recognized and received the lifesaving award with honor.

2015 Service plaques where awarded to Past Commissioner Rick Nedrow for his commitment and dedication to the fire district and community. Training Officer Pat Moore received the service award for his years of service, dedication and commitment.

2015 Helping hands award was given to an assortment of agencies for their support and selfless efforts during the Chelan Complex fires. KOZI Radio, City of Chelan,

Chelan PUD, Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Emergency Management,

USFS, DNR and RiverCom911.

  • Chiefs Award: Karl Jonasson – Chelan EMS
  • Commissioners Award: Josh Humphreys – Rivercom911
  • Chief’s Company: LT. Evan Woods, D/O Brian Thompson, FF Adam Jones, FF Hal Jones and FF John Steiner.
